EA's new campaign for Dead Space 2 is quite the viral hit. The ad, released 4 days, is going viral mainly because they use real mom's whiny conservative views. I am sure the moms knew they would be recorded and possibly used for marketing purposes, but most likely not in this way. Ironically their disgusted and appalled testimonials are being used to sell the shit out of Dead Space 2. Funny ploy...watch in the next week when major media makes a frenzy out of it. God i hate this industry. :)

vodka and scary dreams and vikings
I had to fan their Facebook page. Although this effort probably only relates to .1% of the population...it kicks ass. I guess I am part of that .1% :)

a red revolution
Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy
The boys in Pittsburgh will be reinventing the ways we use ketchup with the newly redesigned ketchup packet. I am personally a huge fan of the new packet. I was confused as to why it was taking so long to redesign (40 years!). Well done.

beer and life and life and beer
Interesting new commercial for Guinness. Not sure if this will air in the US, but it should be an effective spot over the pond. I like how the first bomb scene looks like the foam within a Guinness beer.

pimp wheels
I don't have all the details yet...mostly because I didn't do much research, but the new mid tops are looking pretty hot. I too was a little weary of raising the Uptowns, but they keep that immaculate look for sure. Maybe Uptowns will forever be nice. Maybe I will buy a pair.Maybe Nike will hire me some day...
Dear Nike
I am going to go to grad school where I will get an MBA and whilst become a 'qualified' candidate to apply at your fine company. Instead of throwing my resume in HR's huge pile of unconsidered applicants why don't we set up a time to meet? How does June 6th 2013 look? I am open, you?
Sincerely yours,
Adam W. Bow

if it looks like a kiwi it must be a juicebox

crazy new designs coming out of Japanese shop plusminuszero. Great use of incorporating both touch and vision into product design.
a tip of the hat to designer Naoto Fukasawa.
Naoto was once head of design at IDEO Tokyo office. Check out his wikipedia page.

a mad man great
I am helping out fellow friend Roger Mosconi promote his new book Sex Sells. Check out lecture at PSU where he talks about his career and making some of the most awarded and memorable commercials of all time. If you would like Roger to speak somewhere throw me a note and we'll set it up.

a mossy design gives green new meaning

product designed by Nguyen La Chanh utilizes three different mosses: ball moss, island moss and forest moss. pretty remarkable design because it employs the humidity of the bathroom to keep the moss flourishing.

heineken u so funny
great fresh creative from TBWA\ Neboko.
W+K and heineken still quiet in US. it will be interesting to watch effects or what their communications plan will consist of, especially during this recessionary time. their silent treatment wasn't the best move and their sales are definitely reflective of that....
alcohol is proven recession proof (kinda). sales of PBR and other low quality brands are zooming while sales of premium liquors are getting pounded. Heineys fall in line with 'premium' but they are tasty little buggers...
can they activate booze bags again? or have drunk asses moved to hipster brews...

A dope piece

A collaboration between W+K Shanghai, Jellymon, and government owned Shanghai watches has produced a limited line of beautifully designed watches. Below are some pics. Peep Kidrobot on 118 Prince st. NYC to cop one of these. BUT there are only 100 made of each model so make it super duper quick.

questionable ad
no offense to Crispin, but i really can't find the value in this ad. It may be driving buzz within all the bloggers, but its not driving sales.
Quoted in a Wall Street Journal article..."The fact that they have the blogs, the business community and mass media talking about it means they hit a nerve," says Allen Adamson, managing director of the New York office of Landor Associates, a corporate branding firm owned by WPP Group. And there is this lovely quote too..."The initial reaction might be on the fence or leaning negative but the ad did its job," says Dean Crutchfield, a brand consultant. "Most companies would have to spend a billion dollars on advertising to get this kind of attention."
Really? Brands would spend a billion dollars for this crap--negative buzz even though it's buzz? Honestly? Explain, how this negative buzz converts into affinity and sales for the brand???
